This kit includes the standard lower brackets as well as the upper brackets made specifically for lifted kits that drop the lower differential and LCA. The brackets are laser cut from 3/8″ mild steel and are doweled for added strength and MIG welded. The shock mounts directly to the upper bracket so no stud top adapter or shock adapter is needed. This kit can be used without a lift kit, however the normal style kit is recommended because of easier installation. These brackets are recommended for 3.5-8″ of lift and can be used with any shock that uses a 1/2″ ID lower bearing that is 1-3/8″ wide or narrower. Usual brands are Viking, QA1, and FOX, but has been used with FOA shocks with some modification.
If you need or want help selecting the right coilover shock and spring for your application, please measure like the picture with the truck on the ground at the ride height you want. Use a jack under the front frame to raise the truck if you want more lift than you currently have and measure there. The measurement is from the top of the spring shock pocket to the middle of the LCA bolt.
This kit requries the factory LCA but can be used with aftermarket UCAs. No welding required!
Can be used for any GM 99-07 1500 4WD truck/suv that uses factory torsion bars (includes silverado, sierra, tahoe, yukon, yukon XL, suburban, escalade, denali, and denali XL). Normal application is bolt-on for the upper brackets, but can be welded if you desire. Will not work on 2500/2500HD trucks!
